A Maze of Possibilities V
Over the last few months we have been featuring responses by art students at Hayes School to The Maze by Willliam Kurelek. The last in the series has been published to coincide with the updating of our interactive version of the painting commissioned as part of the redesign of our website. It is now much easier to navigate around Kurelek’s own description of the images he included.
This artist has followed the approach taken by Kurelek and included different compartments for life events, thoughts and feelings. The interior of the head gives space for reflecting on childhood, the importance of good friends and the complexities of family relationships. Interests and achievements are also illustrated alongside ambitions for the future such as the desire to be a writer.
We also see the artist considering the bigger questions of belief, the relentless march of time and the inevitability of death.
