Listen to Breaking Bread Talk with Tim May
On December 1st 2018, here at the museum we hosted a talk with Tim May about the historical, cultural and spiritual significance of bread.
Tim May is an ordained Anglican minister currently starting a new church in East London, having previously been involved in national charity leadership. He is passionate about opening up a gracious space between the church and the culture. Tim lives with his wife Lulu, who is an artist, in Bethnal Green in a flat full of half read books and half painted pictures.
Bethlem Hospital was founded in 1247 as the Priory of the New Order of our Lady of Bethlehem, in the city of London during the reign of Henry III. It was established as St Mary Bethlehem Hospital which in Hebrew and Aramaic means 'House of Bread'.
