Anna Kavan: Life and Fiction

Anna Kavan’s experiences of severe depression and psychiatric treatment shaped her fictional and artistic representations over her long career, as well as her radical politics. Our speaker, Dr Victoria Walker, teaches in the English Department at Queen Mary, University of London, has published widely on Anna Kavan and recently edited a collection of her short writing, Machines in the Head (Peter Owen, 2019).
