Bethlem History Walks

What was here before?

Due to popular demand we will be repeating our history walk every last Saturday of the month come rain or shine. Join us for a walk around the stunning grounds of the Bethlem Royal Hospital with artist Matthew in collaboration with Bethlem Gallery. On this walk we will be asking ‘What was here before?’ and finding out about the history of the hospital from when it moved in 1930. Is Monks Orchard anything to do with monks? What was this iron fence for?

We will also be looking at what wildlife was here before by discovering remains and tracking animal activity.

Strong footwear is advised at it may be muddy in places and be prepared for rain or shine!

Walks begin at 11am, last approximately 1 hour and start in the Bethlem Gallery. We will set off promptly so please arrive a little early to be sure not to miss us.
