Crochet for Wellbeing
Want to learn how to crochet, or keen to meet other crocheters? Join Angelique and Alison over a slice of cake and a cup of tea to pick up some new skills or practice some old ones. Feel free to bring along your own crochet hooks and wool, but we will also be able to provide some materials.
Crochet has been shown to have many benefits on both physical and mental health, including anxiety and depression. The gentle, repetitive motion calms the body and mind, producing a similar effect to meditation or yoga. Keeping joints active improves fine motor skills and reduces inflammation, combating the effects of conditions like arthritis.
This workshop is taking place during Creativity and Wellbeing Week (10-16 June), a national festival which celebrates the role that arts and creativity plays in improving mental health.
It is recommended that you book ahead of coming. Please e-mail [email protected] if you will need materials provided.
