Portrait Workshop
Work with artist Shelagh McCarthy to create portraits / self-portraits and curate your own study of the artistic temperament. In this vibrant and thought-provoking workshop, you will explore ideas about portraiture in relation to artists and works of art found in the Museum’s permanent collection gallery as well as our current temporary exhibition ‘Encased: The Work of Cynthia Pell / (Mrs) Cynthia Weldon’.
Shelagh McCarthy is a London based printmaker, bookbinder and freelance Creative-educator. She has designed and led creative workshops and courses for institutions including the British Library, Central Saint Martins, Westminster University, the British Museum, Battersea Arts Centre and The Guardian Education Centre.
