If only it were this easy to see my cries for help
This exhibition explores artwork from the collection that visually articulates artists' experience of mental illness. The show's title If Only It Were This Easy To See My Cries For Help is taken from the inscription in a new acquisition that inspired the show, MRI Scan (2023) by the artist Mud.
Embedded in Mud's colourful rendering of a brain scan are the words Help Me. The piece illustrates how art can succinctly and impactfully be used to communicate something that is often inexpressible in words, and every piece in the exhibition represents a unique experience.
